Pampering Princess! What to Buy for Kitty this Holiday Season

Pampering Princess! What to Buy for Kitty this Holiday Season
By Lisa Koosis

Once again, the holidays are approaching, and if you're like me, your cherished pets are on your list of gift recipients. So what do you buy for the cat that has everything?

No longer are you limited to furry catnip mice or plastic balls with bells inside when it comes to gifts for your kitties. With mega pet retailers in most neighborhoods and a wealth of places to shop online, the sky is the limit for your cat.

If you prefer traditional gifts, not to worry... You'll find pretty colored balls and catnip mice aplenty in the aisles of any pet retailer you choose. But for the more adventurous, there are many of other choices out there.

Many pet stores have fresh catnip toys in bins by their registers. Often the catnip is locally-grown and the toys a nicer quality, made from soft fabrics in a multitude of fun shapes and colors like sea creatures and fruits and vegetables. From personal experience, I know that these toys are among cats' favorites.

In addition, there are many other gift choices for your fluffy friends. You can find interactive toys that allow you to play with your kitty such as cat dancers and wands with feathers and tinsel on the end that cats just adore.

Yet other items can be given as a gift to both owner and kitty. Pet drinking fountains are a fairly new on the market and make a wonderful gift. They provide a constantly-flowing, aerated water supply, which encourages pets to drink more, which creates a healthier lifestyle for your pets.

How about a kit that gives owners everything they need to bake oven-fresh kitty treats. Most come complete with fish-shaped cookie cutters.

For gift-giving for kitty, the sky's the limit, so don't forget Fluffy when you're shopping for gifts this holiday season. After all, she'll be the one waiting to greet you with a purr and a rub around the ankles when you come home.
